Indian Independence Day dinner
Press release – August 2010
The dinner held on the 14 August 2010 in honour of India’s Independence Day, hosted by the Federation of Indian Associations of Victoria (FIAV) was an invaluable opportunity for Traditional Healthcare and a great night of celebrations for all.
Traditional Healthcare’s documentary focusing on the clinic currently being constructed in the Indian state of Jharkhand, was shown to over 400 people including the honourable Premier of Victoria, John Brumby.
The evening was a great chance to meet with other Members of Parliament and dignitaries of the Victorian Indian community.
Thank you to everyone who made contributions on the evening to our project and to so many who showed a sincere interest in our current and future goals.
We would also like to express our infinite gratitude to Vasan Srinivasan, the President of the FIAV. He contacted Traditional Healthcare earlier in 2010 after hearing about the clinic in India and offered to help in any way he could.
He ensured our presence at the dinner and facilitated the publication of a full page article in the FIAV quarterly newspaper, written by Traditional Healthcare volunteer, Jo Penny.
We look forward to working closely with FIAV moving forward.
