Join us for an incredible weekend at this stunning location with a lake, beach, and trees – all within a moments walk!

The sun and the surf are up, so you won’t have a problem getting up and active at Lake Ainsworth Sport and Recreation Centre (‘The Centre’). Nestled between Byron Bay and Ballina, this easily accessible centre boasts an unrivalled beachside experience.

The Centre enjoys a magnificent natural location on the North Coast of New South Wales. On 244 acres of beach front, the Centre also backs directly on to the freshwater tea tree lake of Lake Ainsworth. It’s a two hours drive from Brisbane, nine hours from Sydney, and seven hours from Newcastle.

All proceeds go to will help us finish the construction of a sustainable healthcare centre in rural India and start a center in Alice Springs Australia. We aim to provide health, resources, education and opportunities to these communities.

Take control of your physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing – this weekend offers you the freedom to shape your experience with a range of group sessions and one-on-one consults available.

Meet some amazing like-minded people, try something new (or build on what you know), and eat delicious food, all in a peaceful setting for a cause that makes a real difference.

Tom Connor

Acupunturist and Traditional Healthcare co-founder

Tom began his studies in 2003 in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Australian Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine under Professor Wong in Northcote, Victoria. He currently practices from Fitzroy, Victoria in the Traditional Healthcare clinic. Read more about Tom.

Dr Casey Conroy

Holistic Dietitian, Yoga Teacher and Traditional Healthcare volunteer

Casey is a holistic dietitian and yoga teacher based on the Gold Coast. Her Bachelor degree in Veterinary Science and Masters in Human Nutrition has provided her with a deep understanding of food and its interaction with human and animal body systems. Read more about Casey.

Michelle Giordmaina

Yoga teacher and Traditional Healthcare volunteer

Michelle began practising yoga in 2001 primarily at the Dance of Life Yoga Studio in Melbourne. In search of a holistic and traditional approach to yoga, Michelle completed her teacher training at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala, India in 2008. Read more about Michelle.

Natalie Smith

Natalie is a certified energy healer and tarot reader who has been practising for 6 years. Natalie’s reading consist of a combination of tarot, playing cards, godess and animal totem oracles, numerology, astrology, kabbalah, runes, pendulum, crystals, clairaudience and clairsentience. Natasja Sproat

Yoga teacher and Traditional Healthcare co-founder

Natasja’s enjoyment of yoga began as a child, and has been teaching for over 6 years. She believes in the integration of yoga into everyday life and teaches a playful, strong and dynamic class with a focus on breath awareness and mindfulness. Joshua Wood

Remedial massage therapist (aka Trigger Point Assassin) and Traditional Healthcare Director

Josh is a remedial massage therapist coming from a martial arts background and bringing his passion for movement to the table to promote optimum health and vitality. More about Joshua.

Food and accommodation

  • Vegetarian meals are provided from Friday dinner to Monday breakfast.
  • Accommodation is in dormitories of 5-6 double bunks, including en-suite and kitchenette with a small fridge, and kettle. All rooms are air-conditioned (if needed).
  • We can also take group bookings if you would like to organise a whole dorm for your crew.

  • Bedding
  • Towel
  • Toiletries

  • Reading material
  • Swimmers
  • Refillable water bottle: Drinking water available
  • Clothes for stretching in
  • Yoga mat
  • Belt or yoga strap
  • Torch
  • Ear plugs just in case there is a snorer ;p
  • Special teas – can make tea and coffee at leisure
  • Extra fruit or snacks – can store in your fridge next to individual dorm rooms.
  • Beach towel or something similar that will double as a yoga blanket.
  • Washing machines and dryers are available for your use. BYO pegs.
  • Bedding – pillow, fitted and flat sheet, and a sleeping bag or doona (or there is an $8 linen cover which includes pillow, pillow case, 2 x flat sheets, blanket and towel all weekend).
  • Parents need to bring a porta cort if their bringing a baby who needs one.
  • Surf board and wet suit (if you would like to surf. Note if you’re using a wetsuit, it should be pretty warm that time of year).
  • Surf board hire: Let us know on your registration form and we can organise it. Surf boards hire is an additional cost: board hire for 2 hours -$10; boogie boards 2 hours – from $5.
