Datom Project Update: Feb 2013

Mar 2, 2013   //   by thealthcare   //   Uncategorized  //  Comments Off

Currently we have three buildings near completion (Clinic, Education Hall, and Kitchen). Building will start again in March 2013 and we hope to finish these buildings well before the end of the year.

We have the following still to build which we are currently raising funds for:

  1. Large accommodation wing
  2. Composting toilets
  3. Animal houses for cows, chooks, and pigs
  4. Methane digester that uses animal manure to produce methane that provides gas for cooking in the kitchen
  5. Central courtyard and driveway
  6. Stormwater management
  7. Solar power system

Support us by making a donation or contact us, we’d love to hear from you!

Water crisis in Datom

Apr 10, 2011   //   by thealthcare   //   Uncategorized  //  Comments Off

Photo: Dry land with no water in sight..

Due to very little rain around the Datom clinic, the closest river became desert. Now the cattles are suffering but in the peak of summer, the well and pond will be the same as the river. A huge water crisis is coming for this area soon.
